a few are here (for a windows GUI):

you can also pipe the output of mppdec to lame (for windows & linux CLI):
mppdec file.mpc - | lame - file.mp3

TeenSpirits, you have been banned for repeated trolling/TOS violations.

Frontah also can do this job (transcoding MPC -> MP3). Download this special version from me. All necessary codecs and settings are already made/included!

tons of problems
Ive been scratching my head for a few hours now trying to get some of these programs to work. Ive got a few .mpc files and would either like to convert them to a more familiar format (mp3) or at least use a winamp plugin, which i also havent been able to get working. I tried the program listed at the top of the page a couple times and wasnt able to make it work. if somebody could help me out it would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

If you actually told anyone what didn't work for you in which program, someone could probably help you.

Hey guys, use Adobe Audition 2.0, you can convert any formats to other formats without converting to wav.

I have collection filters for Audition & i can convert my files with these filters:
Monkey's Audio
Ogg Vorbis
The True Audio

Sorry about that, I was somewhat tired and disgruntled when I wrote that post. Ok, Im using the "Free MPC" program found at: I successfully downloaded it, figured out how to convert the program into a .jar file, but now am running into a bunch of problems with the "error message". The program's website suggests simply putting the file in a new folder and deselecting the read only box. However, when I do this, it seems to automatically REselect the box. If anyone can offer any assistance it would be most appreciated. Thanks.

I have no idea about that software, sorry.

rugglerduggler 16 June 2007 01:11 am

how exactly do you use the adobe program? i got it and its pretty complicated. if you could give me a walkthrough as to how to convert .mpc files id appreciate that greatly. thanks.

Shy 16 June 2007 07:23 am

You really don't need a professional audio editor to convert audio files...there are many small programs that allow you to convert files very easily. I don't know about issues with the FreeMPC program, but I know the following programs are very straightforward: theFrontend, or Frontah, and several others linked to from our Program Overview page (under Frontends & Taggers).

ok, thanks shy, appreciate it. ill give those a shot.

Nvm about my post in the General Forum.

I've been trying, but I don't understand the softwares =P

The Frontah soft seems to be the most familiar one, but I don't get how to tranform the files anyways :P

I would aprpeciate if someone can give me his/her msn so I can do it :P

Read the program's instructions, all is explained perfectly there.

MPxchange is the best for mpc to mp3

just drop and drag files into the window and click transcode
also right click below encoder options to change settings.

MPC read and convert
I have problem with dBpoweramp. I installed mpc plug in, but when I want convert mpc to mp3 program showed:
Error converting to mp3 (Lame), 'D:\track.mpc' to 'D:\track.mp3'
Lame Encoder: Error Converting from 'Format Tag: 3 Channels: 0 Bits per Sample: 32 Samples Per Second: 0 Bytes Per Second: 1 Block Align: 1 CB Size: 0' to 'Format Tag: 1 Channels: 0 Bits per Sample: 32 Samples Per Second: 44100 Bytes Per Second: 0 Block Align: 0 CB Size: 0'

This track is good, but I cant play it on winamp with plugin, only foobar read it.
maybe you know what is the problem?

Shy 21 June 2011 06:31 pm
