Looking for network-to-stereo appliance

Hi there,

What I'm looking for is some appliance that can access (wirelessly preferably) music on my home network, and be plugged to my stereo.

Actually, what I'm looking for is more or less this product... with MPC support. :)

You can in fact use Roku's SoundBridge products, with the TVersity server which supports SoundBridge and Musepack, and has many useful features. Enjoy :).

Wow, thank you, this software was unknown to me but looks very cool. I had it work with mydaughter's PSP, it was fun (and might be useful too) :)

How did you know they support MPC (they do support MPC, but they don't advertise it)?

Anyone has tested Logitech products? How do they fare?

Their FAQ mentions that Musepack is one of the supported formats. Yeah, it is not so easy to find that info though.

According to the Logitech Transporter specs, it uses a DAC which has less noise and higher dynamic range than the Roku M1001's. However, I'm not familiar with the actual quality of either (DAC specs in such products really mean very little, so listening is the only way to reliably check the quality).
Both companies offer pretty extensive features, connection types, etc. As for usability/reliability, no idea really :), it would probably be best to ask in audio/multimedia hardware forums.

FYI, I had very interesting suggestions / informations at HydrogenAudio.

Thanks for the pointers! :)
