I don't know about MPlayer for Windows. But the Linux Version supports MPC. It somehow uses the xmms-plugin in the xmms plugin folder for playback.

First go to the libmusepack dir and do a make install.
Then to the xmms-musepack dir and do a make install.
Now the plugin should be installed ;)

Thanks for the hint ;) Now the plugin should display the filename without the extension if no tag was found.
I hope Lefungus can upload the updated Plugin to the site ;)

As it seems Id3-tag reading isn't supported in 1.1 Alpha 6 :(
