Hi. Sample rates higher than 48,000Hz are useless in the context of perceptual audio coding, because such high frequencies cannot be heard (and therefore perceived) by anyone. Note that anyone who tries to convince you that any higher sample rate has "better quality" is either trying to fool you or has already fooled themselves. In order to support encoding of higher sample rates to 48kHz or 44.1kHz, resampling would have to be performed first. There is no plan to implement a resampler in the encoder application. You could resample your files using an external program prior to encoding to MPC. For example using foobar2000 with the high quality SoX resampler component.
