Default ERROR: Sampling frequency of 88.2 kHz is not supported!

Hi,

sorry but I could not find this in the FAQ, and you also don't have a Forum saying "support", so I thougt I might post it in here:

I have a WAV File, when I try to feed it to mppenc it gives me "ERROR: Sampling frequency of 88.2 kHz is not supported!".
eerrrm, what am I suposed to do now?!?

Thanks!

This sampling rate is not supported by mppenc. What I suggest is to use the excellent SSRC to resample your track to 44.1 Khz, which is handled properly by mppenc. Use the command-line with something like:

SSRC.exe --twopass --dither 3 --rate 44100 Sample.wav Sample-44_1.wav (also experiment with --dither 0 and hear if it sounds more pleasing to you)

This will ensure a quality conversion, and you'll be able to use the new sample after.

Note: if you use another OS, there are Linux builds too.
