Default mppdec.exe for transcoding/streaming does not work

Hy, I'm trying to use mppdec under windows for my streaming page (using zina).

I'm in trouble piping mppdec output to lame:

This works:
Code:
mppdec song.mpc - > song.wav
This works:
Code:
type song.wav | lame - song.mp3
but this fails:
Code:
mppdec song.mpc - | lame - song.mp3

MPC Decoder 1.95z6 3DNow/SSE (C) 1999-2003 Buschmann/Klemm/Piecha/Wolf

decoding of file 'song.mpc'

 LAME version 3.93 MMX (http://www.mp3dev.org/)

CPU features: i387, MMX (ASM used), SIMD, SIMD2

Using polyphase lowpass filter, transition band: 15115 Hz - 15648 Hz

Encoding <stdin> to song.mp3

Encoding as 44.1 kHz 128 kbps j-stereo MPEG-1 Layer III (11.1x) qval=2

        to <stdout>

         Dj-Djoss: Ambient Music Sound vol 2 (, 2004)

[01] Users Atmosphere - Watership S (Good Listen)

  194.3 kbps, 5:26.32, SV 7.0, Profile 'Xtreme'

mppdec: write error: Invalid argument, repeat once more...

^C
Is it a mppdec problem or lame ?

i don't see why that is an mppdec error, as it has already decoded the mpc file and lame has started to encode, and mppdec itself does not write anything (like, say a wav file, or to a destination.

with the RW/Debian build i get:

Code:
$ mppdec cymbals.mpc - | lame - cymbals.mp3

MPC Decoder 1.95z67 3DNow/SSE (C) 1999-2003 Buschmann/Klemm/Piecha/Wolf

decoding of file 'cymbals.mpc'

         to <stdout>

         test:

         cymbals

  185.2 kbps, 0:09.35, SV 7.0, Profile 'Standard' (--Alpha-- 1.15)

     0:00.02/ 0:09.35 decoded ( 0.0%)LAME version 3.90.3 MMX (http://www.mp3dev.org/)

CPU features: i387, MMX (ASM used), 3DNow!, SIMD, SIMD2

Using polyphase lowpass filter, transition band: 18671 Hz - 19205 Hz

Encoding <stdin> to cymbals.mp3

Encoding as 44.1 kHz VBR(q=2) j-stereo MPEG-1 Layer III (ca. 7.3x) qval=2

later

Actually I met this problem with both 1.95e and 1.95z6 Windows versions of mppdec. While it works with the 1.93j version Case had on his site. All was tested using same 3.96.1 version of Lame. So I think there's a problem with mppdec pipe. Now Case's Musepack page are taken offline, and I don't know where you can get that compile on the web anymore...

However, I got it on my HD, and if you PM me an e-mail adress I can send it to you.

mppdec 1.95e works just fine. 1.95z6 gives an "invalid argument".
