Hi there,
Songbird 1.0 is out. Even if it's a beta rather than a real release, I see no support for musepack there. ![]() Is anyone here planning a MPC plugin ? (beyond my skills unfortunately, even if the actively encourage plugins creation) |

Their lack of support for Musepack, WavPack, Speex and other formats is strange, since they a have a GStreamer (which supports all these) media core, yet ignore the formats. The question is why someone would write a third-party plugin when their media core should support the format in the first place.

If you're using linux and if gstreamer0.10-plugins-bad package is installed, Songbird is supposed to play Musepack format. More infortmation on this here.
If you're using Mac, because Songbird is using QuickTime for media playback and because there is no third party plugin provides Musepack support for QT you'll probably wait for a stable amarok Mac package like me ![]() I have no idea for Songbird on Windows. |
