My Iaudio X5 doesnt seem to recognise sv8 ??

Are you using the latest build? The SV8 update was added just a few days after 3.5.1 was released.

Rockbox 3.6 was just released (Release Notes 3.6). This is the first official release with Musepack SV8 support. Since the first port in March several fixes were included (e.g. fix for heavily delayed forward seek).
