mppenc 1.15u is out.
It now properly handles the samples provided in this thread, even at 'standard' quality. In addition, teh01.flac/teh02.flac can be encoded gaplessly now. There are a few more known cases that fail older versions of the encoder and other codecs too. 1.15u is a fix for them all. The code has changed in the way the encoded signal is padded to MPC frame boundaries. The beginning and end of track encoding is handled differently now. Thanks a lot to Xiph's Monty for the initial advice. We're back with MSVC for the Windows compile. The file is now static-linked to avoid issues for all users. mppenc 1.15u for Windows mppenc 1.15u for Linux mppenc 1.15u source Don't forget that our SVN server is always ready for new submissions. You can usually find anything we work on there. |

BTW, later tonight CiTay received a long email from Frank confirming our course of action regarding the gapless problem. His suggestion is more complex than the one we chose, but it's good to know his idea is very similar to ours. He also linked to his current work project.
I'm glad that Neuros and the person CiTay chose for firmware development are negotiating terms. It would be great to have portable player support so we could play our 1.15u files everywhere we go. |

Thanks to the developers who are continuing the progress of Musepack.
Quick request: does anyone out there have a mirror of the latest Win version? My work firewall won't let me access the main download site. Thanks! |

mppenc or any other download originally distributed by Musepack.net/linked to from the site's download pages, should be gotten from nowhere but Musepack.net. We can't guarantee that your download will be virus free, correct, or anything if it's from any other source.
Regarding your firewall issue: There is no reason at all for a firewall to block saunalahti.fi (major ISP) addresses yet not block other random addresses. |

Sorry, yes there should definitely be a caveat on reliability.
The firewall at work blocks many websites based on a variety of topics, and I guess they consider saunalahti.fi as "streaming radio". But they allow many other websites with similar items (like rarewares.org for instance). |

Too bad rarewares still shares 1.15s, then.
Topic closed. Further discussion not related to the actual release of 1.15u should be started on a new thread. |
